Matt Cardle - Letters

Matt's new album 'Letters' is pretty decent in my opinion. He previously released the single 'Run For Your Life' from this album written for him by gary barlow. Although this song is not completely terrible it is definately one of the worst on the album. The rest of the album showcases Matt's songwriting and I really like it. It has a good mix of upbeat and slow songs - all of them being good songs. His voice is amazing making the album in more special and must listen for everyone. He's not everyone's cup of tea but he is definately mine.

Chalet Girl

This film, recently released on DVD, is a must watch. You think it's going to be the classic, predictable chick flick - but it's actually not. Although it is chick flicky and slightly predictable in places it is actually really funny. The cast and actors are brilliant and the music is awsome. Here's a trailer to get you in the mood:

It's the perfect film to get yourself ready for the winter months ahead. Remember only 75 days till christmas :)

Leap Year

If your looking for a nice film to watch after your exams or just a tiring day at school, I have the perfect film. Leap Year is about a girl who goes to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, but as you probably guessed it doesn't go so smoothly. Amy Adams from Enchanted (also a pretty cool film) plays 'Anna from Boston' the arrogant american. Whilst Matthew Goode plays Declan who is hilarious and smoldering - he really made the film for me. The gorgeous coutryside back drop added to the amazing storyline, acting and characters makes this film one of my favourites of all time (it's definately in my top ten). This film has me histerical in moments and totally in love with Declan in others. I am never ever going to get bored of this film; I must have watched it at least 10 times in the last week alone. If you now really want to watch this film, then here's the trailer to keep you going:

And for anyone still finnishing their exams - Good luck! I know it completely sucks but it will soon be over. Enjoy the film.

M&S Shoes - Limited Collection

Marks and Spencers have always had the odd pair of really nice shoes at really good prices. I have found a really nice pair of shoes in their Limited Collection for only £19.50! I know, I was completely shocked. So much so, that I grabbed my size and ran to the nearest checkout. These shoes are made of navy blue material with mahogany leather-like material on the heel. They fit me perfectly even though I have narrow ankles, plus as they are navy, they will go with most outfits. I think these are a Star Buy. They are an amazing pair of shoes that make your feet look gorgeous as well as being really good value for money.

Here's the website if you'd like to find out more about these gorgeous shoes:  http://www.marksandspencer.com/Limited-Collection-Platform-Court-Shoes/dp/B004AB8DV8?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_2&nodeId=210704031&sr=1-2&qid=1307105576

Rimmel London 'Day 2 Night' Mascara

I bought this mascara yesterday and I am loving it! It has two sections to it: one which adds length to you lashes (day) and one which adds volume (night). The length brush is perfect for a casual and natural look; it makes you look feminine and more delicate. The volume brush is better for the more mysterious look and works a treat with some black eye liner. Both brushes are clump free and it is very easy to use. At the moment as it is a new line it has £2 off in Boots and Superdrug, so I'd get it quickly if I was you, as it is only £5.99. This is amazing value for a top mascara. I would highly recommend it!
Happy shopping!

Jimmy Needham - Nighlights

Jimmy Needham has recently released a new album 'Nightlights'. Jimmy is a singer from Chicago and his music is soulfull and has an acoustic feel. His music has is simaler to Jason Mraz. He is most famous for his amazing song 'Firefly', which I love! So if you're looking for some summer tunes I would highly recommend his album. The deluxe edition of this album is awsome as it includes some acoustic versions of some of his songs, this can be bought on itunes. This is the music video for 'Firefly' by Jimmy Needham.

Enjoy :)

Spring Harvest 2011 - Route 66

Tomorrow me and hannah are going to spring harvest 2011. Our excitement is uncontrollable. We have been preparing and anticipating this day for just under a year and it has finally come.
For those who don't know what spring harvest is, it is a christian event that happens once a year on various weeks around easter in various butlins destinations. They get all the up and coming as well as the more famous christian music artists from around the world for worship, teaching and relaxation.
Here's a video to show you a bit of what it is like:

This year's theme is Route 66, so its all about the bible which is quite appropriate due to it being the anniversary of the king james's bible this year.

As i said before me and hannah are exstacting about this, and we want to share our experiences with you guys. So we are hoping that everyday we will be able to really share what we have been doing and what we have learnt throughout that day - a bit like a diary. So keep checking the blog in the next few days (we are going Saturday 9th April and are coming back on Thursday 14th April) and keep up to date with our adventures at Spring harvest. And for anyone who will be joining us in the Spring Harvest going this week, we hope to see you there.

For more information about Spring Harvest go to:
http://www.springharvest.co.uk/ or their facebook page.

Johnnie B Dresses

Johnnie B is the teen version of boden, quite a few items from my wardrobe are from there. However the dresses this season are completely LUSH. Here are a few if my favourites.
1.

This is my favourite dress at the moment. I have the flowery one and I love it but the blue stars is also adorable. This dress is soo comfortable and its so pretty and floaty that it makes you feel completely summery immediately. At only £34.00 its pretty good value for a quality dress.

2.

This is my second favourite dress from their spring/summer collection. I love it because of the whole neutral trend that is quite common at the moment. I love the pockets at the front which give a beach, easy-going feel to the dress. This dress would look gorgeous with simple brown sandals or even boots. At £38.00 this dress is slightly expensive, but still not bad. It really is amazing quality though, and it still looks incredible after a number of washes.

3.

This style was used last year by johnnie B but with different colours and designs. I have one of the old design dresses an I still where it all the time. They are so comfortable and are perfect for wearing around the house, just to chill plus they are great for parties or chilling on the beach. These also make you feel completely summery with their floaty skirts and short vest tops. These are £32.00 so are pretty good value.

4.
Although this post is supposed to be about dresses, this jumpsuit is in the dresses section on the Johnnie B website, Plus they are completely gorgeous! With their flattering ruffles along the neck line and the elasticated waist to show of your curves, this style will make you look completely gorgeous. There's a range of colours and designs but these two are my favourite. At £30.00 this is amazing value for quality materials and style.

There are many other dresses on johnnies B's website: http://www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Johnnie-B-Clothing.html#nav. So go take a look :)

One Day by David Nicholls

I read this book a month or so ago, and it is amazing! The book follows Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley throughout their lives. Each chapter is the same day the following year, its starts off when they meet at uni and you then follow their lives throughout the years, either when they're together or apart. It's not the traditional love story but it is a more realistic story of life. It had be crying and laughing but whatever the emotions i was hooked throughout. Even when its just about their mundane, day to day life you feel as if you are in both these characters heads, and once you've finnished you feel as if you know both Dex and Em as if they were close friends. It's so realistic and it just hugs you. This book was a national book awards winner for popular fiction book of the year and i can understand why. It's soon to be made into a film, and although i can't imagine the film to by even close to the amaziness of the book i'm still looking forward to its release. Although i've made it seem like a girly love story, it really isn't. I reckon guys would probably enjoy this too seeing as its written from both male and female percpectives. It really makes you value life. But not in a morbid way. Both characters don't have perfect jobs or find their soul mates immediately without any drama, they learn that life is difficult for most people, especially when you don't speak your mind. It's so realistic and easy to relate to compared to the general love story.

Here's the author's website if you want any more info: http://www.davidnichollswriter.com/home

I found an audio extract from near the beginning of the book :

Please read it, it will change your world. Love Milly xxx

Loving You Tonight - Andrew Allen

I came across this video accidently on youtube, and fell in love with it. It's been stuck in my head all week (along with hey soul sister, the glee version) so I thought I should share it with you guys. It makes me feel incredibly summery plus the lyrics are gorgeous. His voice is also amazing and so gorgeous. Although I don't think this song is yet available on itunes, look out for it because it should be soon. I Am Number Four by Pitacus Lore

I bought this book recently and it took me less than 2 days to read it, it was that good. Although it is seen as a sci fi book, which is not normally my thing, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is can also sometimes be found in the childrens book section, however so was Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga, so don't let that put you off.

It's about a guy who's being hunted... him and nine others (now only 6 left ) are the only hope for the  survival of their planet ( I don't want to give too much away, but their not human)  It's full of action and adventure and it kept me gripped till the very end. It's also got love and friendship it an American High School.

There is planned to be more books, and this book is about to be released as a film. The film staring not only the gorgeous Alex Pettyfer as John Smith, but also Dianna Agron (or known to most of us as Quinn Fabray from Glee) as his love interest Sarah. I am very excited about this new film. It was released 23rd February, so quickly read the book and then go see the film.
Here's the trailer:

The book's amazing and it looks like the film will be to. Enjoy :)

The Six Nations

You make just think that I have gone mad, Rugby? whats so good about that?? But during the past couple of weeks I have been loving the six nations! The Six Nations being a rugby tornament including England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy (there are 6 of them, hint the SIX nations) Now your still probably thinking why would I want to waste my saturday afternoon watching the rugby. I'll tell you why - the men. Beafy guys in tight shorts running around and tackling each other, what girl wouldn't want to watch that??? I mean seriously. sometimes there's even a bit accident, someone starts bleeding coz they got punched in the face or someone breaks a bone.. its quite addictive and way more dangerous than football.

Now we have the why? sorted out now we move on to the what? and the how? Ok so most of you probably don't understand rugby, you probably don't even understand football (mentioning no names...uh Hannah!!) so I have found a quick and easy to understand girls guide to rugby. It's on a blog called Bookshelf Boyfriend and includes most you need to know about rugby. Heres the web address: http://www.bookshelfboyfriend.com/motoring/articles.php?article_id=176 However if you have no intention to actually understand the game then just sit and admire the muscles ;)

If you live in England all the games are available to watch live on the BBC. The list of all the games, times and dates can be found here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/4797831.stm. I believe some of the games are also available on BBC America or you can watch them at a later date on BBC iplayer : http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/

If you are now thinking about watching a bit of the six nations then there are plently more matches to go. Here is a clip of the highlights in the England Vs Wales game to get you started.

Enjoy :)

Next's Kitten Heels

At the moment Next have a gorgeous range of kitten heels, that I adore. Next generally has a good range of shoes, but these are really something.
As they are kitten heels, the heel is not too high, and therfore they are really comfortable to walk in for long periods of time. They are available in a range of styles, my favourites being , Bow Kitten Shoes (Navy) and Red Floral Print Kitten Heels, but I personally like them all.

I have bought the navy ones with a bow, but at only £25 I am thinking about buying another pair as well. These shoes look perfect with skirts if your dressing up but they also look amazing with jeans. They really add a classy touch to every outfit.

You can order these online from the next website:
http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/women/shoesandboots/42
or you can buy them from your nearest next store.

I hope you enjoy the shoes

Letters to Juliet

Letters to Juliet has recently been released DVD and i've wanted to see it since it was in the cinema, but never got around to going and seeing it. So this morning I went and rented it from the library. I watched it this afternoon and it was amazing. If you like romantic comedies, or just a good chick then you will love this gorgeously romantic film. Is a classic romance and I think its very hard not to absolutely love it. Although it is perhaps predictable in parts, some of it you wouldn't have expected until it begins to happen, if not after it happens. So if you want a light hearted, cute film, watch Letters to Juliet.

Sarah Dessen's Books

All through secondary school, i have loved Sarah Dessen's books ( i'm kinda a big reader! thats sort of an understatement as hannah can tell you) Although her books can be found in the young adults section in book shops (although i am a young adult, i tend to read the adult books) so was twilight originally, and everyone loves twilight! Her books really hit a cord for me, i sort of gain stuff from reading them. I tend to read them either when i'm heart broken and depressed, need guy related advice or when i just feel like reading but not anything too deep. Her books are like the book versions of chick flicks. I think they've taught me a lot over the years as they are the type of book you can read over and over without getting bored.. So here are my favourites to get you loving them too.

1. The Truth about Forever

The perfect fairytale. An utterly gorgeous but mysterious hottie (Wes) and Macy, a girl who has a slightly weird and controlling boyfriend. Macy stopped living her life when her dad died, but she meets new friends that start to help her enjoy life again. They are ment to be together but can they figure it out... Its so amazing. i really havent done it justice. Just read it.. please!

                                             2. Just Listen

Annabel's life is hell. she has no friends  and her family is slowly falling apart. The unexpected guy helps her to open up her ears and heart again. This one is soo cute, but at times it is quite deep.

                                        3. This Lullaby

Remy is suprised to start to a guy who has all the traits that she hates.. its soo sweet. you'll start to wish guys like this were real. This book is on offer on whsmith online (http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=9780340989029)

For more Sarah Dessen books ( that are also awsome)  http://www.sarahdessen.com/
They definitely way better than i have made them out to be... trust me!

Strictly Come Dancing 2010

Hannah and I have been loving the new series of Strictly Come Dancing. This is the 8th series and i have watched and loved all of them, but i think this one is going to be the best. At the moment i can't wait until saturday evenings as now not only can i watch Casualty (which i adore!) also there is the x factor and strictly.
Strangely me and hannah like exactly the same couples in strictly, so here are our favourites (all the others are good too, but we like these best!) and a bit about them if you havent been watching the series so far...

Matt Baker and Aliona Vilani
Matt Baker is a Countryfile presenter but you may reconise him from your childhood as a Blue Peter presenter (he was my favourite out of all the blue peter presenters). In the first week of Strictly Matt and Aliona (such a pretty name) did amazing they scored 31/40 with their cha cha, which is an amazing score for the first week when they are lucky to get over 20. They were also top of the leader board. I think they can go on to really amazing routines and hopfully get into the final.

Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev
Kara Tointon used to play Dawn Swann in Eastenders. Last Saturday on the first night, she did really good but she stumbles when her got caught in her dress or hair (not sure). She still scores a 30/40 for her cha cha. I think they look great together and she is totally a born dancer.

Tina O'Brian and Jared Murillo
Tina O'Brian was on corination street from a young age and she was in a lot of severe and dramatic story lines. On saturday they did the cha cha and scored 24/40. Although they weren't amazing last saturday i think that it was mainly because it was the first week and her nerves got the better of her.  I think there may be some really good dancing in her yet.

Scott Malsen and Natalie Lowe
Eastenders fans may reconise scott as heart-throb Jack Branning. However I remember him from the bill, where he was also pretty amazing. On saturday Scott and Natalie did a Waltz, which i thought was stunning and they got 28/40. I think hes gonna be in the final, he maybe the underdog of the competition.

Strictly is next on Saturday at 5.45 BBC 1 and then the results show is on sunday at 7.30

If that has made you strictly obbsessed then go to the stictly come dancing website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing/ (where all the photos were from) or look at some of the videos of the series so far that we have put on our blog :) much love. xx

Naked Products

For my birthday one of my friends bought me ooh la la naked - coco de mer body wash, it smells gorgeous! So I looked on the Naked website and found out that they do over 50 products for hair and body. There are body washes, shampoos, hair treatments, bubble bath, heat protection spray, hair mousse, face wash and many others. All their products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and are made of 97% natural products. They don't test their products on animals, plus the packaging can be recycled. Although I am not a vegetarian, this fact was a comfort to me. Their products range from £3.99 to £10.00 (the more flashy products) and smell absolutely beautiful! They can be found in most supermarkets but if not then have a look in your local Boots.
If you want to look online at the range of Naked products then the address is http://www.nakedbodycare.co.uk/

I think they are perfect christmas presents.. maybe even with a chocolate reindeer thrown in. :) x

Roasted Chesnuts

Me and my friend Casey went to a National Trust garden today with our families and we found a chestnut tree. So I filled my pockets full of chestnuts and planned to roast them. In fact I was quite excited about it. This is the recipe that I used, so that you can enjoy them too... they taste amazing!

Photo from: http://www.aurorasignaturecandlelamp.com/scentselect.htm

 1. Find some chestnuts, I found them fallen from a chestnut tree but you can probably find them in your local supermarket or maybe in health shops.

2. Wash the chestnuts, but leave them wet.

3. Cut a cross into each chestnut and place them on a baking tray.

4. Put them in the oven at 200c or gas mark 6 for 20-30 minutes. You know when they are cooked because the skin around the cross will peel and the middle of the chestnut will be soft.

I really enjoyed these and can't wait to make them again. They made me feel really christmasy. My advise is to watch a good christmasy film ( my choice would be The Holiday or Love Actually) , get your best friend round, and roast some chestnuts. Maybe even add a good hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. (works better when raining out side :) Thats what me and Hannah are going to be doing next time it rains. Remember only 83 days till christmas :) xx
